FASTCAT SUSPENDED FOR REST OF THE DAY DUE TO ONGOING MECHANICAL ISSUES
Wightlink has announced that its FastCat passenger service between Ryde Pier Head and Portsmouth Harbour will remain suspended for the rest of the day due to ongoing mechanical issues.
The cross-Solent operator had initially hoped to resume a normal timetable after this morning’s cancellations. However, engineers have been unable to complete the necessary repairs in time to restore service.
A charter vessel was used for a period of time, enabling services to resume as just gone 10:00, but that arrangement now seems to have stopped.
All FastCat tickets and passes are being accepted on Wightlink’s Portsmouth-Fishbourne car ferry route, with a dedicated shuttle bus operating between Ryde Pier Head and Fishbourne to assist foot passengers.
Customers may also use their tickets or passes to travel with Hovertravel between Ryde and Southsea.
Wightlink has apologised for the continued disruption and thanked customers for their patience and understanding.
